Once you've applied for a service with us online or by calling us on 13 19 17 , we aim to get you connected within approximately 5-10 working days.

If we anticipate a delay of any kind, we will notify you on your nominated email address or mobile number that you provided upon application. More information on wait times and how to apply is within our broadband faqs.

So that you can know what to expect, we connect your services in the following order after application:

  1. First, we make the necessary arrangements to connect you to broadband - whether that be churning your current service to us or setting up a brand new connection.
  2. If you have bundled with our VOIP service we will then enable your VOIP connection (once your ADSL account is active) so that you can start to save heaps by making calls over your broadband service.
  3. If you have bundled with our phone service, we first churn your local calls with line rental and then your long distance.

Note: If you have applied for a brand new phone connection, your phone service will be activated before we apply for ADSL on your line. More information is available in our broadband faqs. If you need assistance with your connection, check out our support section or contact us.

what is Fast Transfer?

Fast Transfer enables a client to move from one Internet Service Provider (ISP) to another with a reduced connection fee and shorter turn-around time for account activation. This applies to participating ISPs using the Telstra Wholesale network to supply broadband services.

iiNet participates in the Fast Transfer service where ever possible. However, this service is not guaranteed as we use both the Telstra Wholesale network and our own new broadband network which cannot access the Fast Transfer service.

Therefore, please note that customers moving onto an iiNet DSLAM should disconnect from their current provider after application to ensure a smooth transition.

As we are unable to guarantee the availability of DSL Transfer at all times, this feature should not be relied upon as a term of purchasing or continuing as a customer of iiNet.

Regardless of whether or not we can provide DSL Fast Transfer, we still offer the reduced set up fee of $39 (normally $79.95) to iiNet customers joining us from other Fast Transfer participants.
